Research Project: Covid control policies and the use of Contact Tracing Apps(CTAs) in Shenzhen, China, and King County
Project Description: This research uses available data to see the overall effectiveness of CTAs and government policies, as well as Covid and CTAs’s impact on Society. By doing so, we can see how are government policies tightly correspond with the impact of CTA, and responsible of Covid’s impact on the Society, especially the economic recovery and social inequalities.
What have you learned throughout your research project?
Gathering, analyzing, and visualizing can harder and more frustrating than we thought, patience and positivity are important. The analysis and understanding of the data or documents that we generate sometimes are more crucial than reaching a conclusion.
What piece of advice do you have for future applicants?
Having a clear and fundamental plan is very helpful. Think of a few goals you want to achieve and look around to make sure there are enough resources and you have a expectation of how long it may take, as well as the difficulties you might encounter.
