Research Project: Analyzing Anti-SARS-CoV2 Antibodies That Inhibit Antibody-Mediated Entry Through the Spike Protein

Project Description: This project investigates the inhibitory effects anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies have on viral entry through the spike protein through its various conformational dynamics. By analyzing these antibodies, the study sheds light on potential mechanisms for inhibiting antibody-mediated entry. We offer insights for the development of effective therapies and vaccines against COVID-19.

What have you learned throughout your research project?

It can be pretty daunting to take on independent projects with minimal guidance, but as long as you are methodical about your work, reach out for support when needed, and believe in yourself, your abilities, and your knowledge, you can get work done that you didn’t think you could!

What piece of advice do you have for future applicants?

Show your passion for the work! It can get easy to get stuck in the weeds about all the details of your project, but don’t forget what made you apply for the scholarship in the first place- your passion and excitement for the work you are doing/contributing to!
